New PacksWe have created some new activity packs, so if you or the kids are stuck
for something to do, why not drop in and buy some! They come complete with
instructions and all of the materials that you need for the pack - Nice and
simple!
Only £1 - £2 depending on which pack you want!

August 2008Thanks to a grant from B & Q, we will be getting a new shop front to the
unit hopefully by the end of August 2008.
This is part of an on going process to help make the Scrapstore more
environmentally friendly!
- Donate your old mobile phones and bits to
us!
Help us raise funds and help the environment. We can recycle your mobile phones
in an environmentally friendly way. If they are in good condition, they will be
refurbished and passed on to a charity that helps out third world countries.
If you are a company and have a collection of phones and accessories, we can
schedule a collection as part of our bi-weekly collections
Cheap paint!
We've still got gallons and gallons of paint, so if you
are in the mood for decorating, whether you're schools, playgroups, local
community groups or even just for home, we have got loads for you!

We've moved to exciting new premises. Our new location is Unit 2a Darby Close Cheney Manor
Industrial Estate. SN2 2PN. 01793 513982.
We closed the Pinehurst People Centre site at the end of Thursday 27th September
2007, moving with the kind help of Iceland and DHL, and re-opened on
Tuesday 2nd October - meaning no loss of service to you!
Our new premises have less floor space but is much better laid out, so we are
still be able to store the same sort of stock.
Our new premises are located next to the Swindon Recycling Centre and 'Tip',
meaning we are more obvious to the public, so should be able to grow from
strength to strength!
AND! Even better because we are no longer subject to opening restrictions we can
now open on weekends and evenings (by prior arrangement!).
New rules, categories and fees
As at the end of October 2007, categories changed from A-F to Bronze,
Silver, Gold and Platinum with new charges and incentives for members. This
includes a discount in the shop for the higher grades of membership.
We have had quite a bit of feedback about the change in our membership. The
main reason for the change was to make the different levels of membership
easier and more fair. In response to the feedback to the initial new
bandings, we have amended the pricing further and changed what organisation
fits into the new bands. Hopefully this will be well received and more
people will want to become members again!
The membership fees had not been increased for several years and we have had
to move to non-council premises. This has greatly increased our costs which
unfortunately we have had to pass on to our members and customers.

You can buy all your art and craft needs at ReCreation, and
shop online shop with optional collection from the Scrapstore allowing you to pay by
credit card!! This will save you time, just drop in and pick up your stuff!

Olivia's multi-talented!
We now offer professional face-painting services for all events. The cost is £30
per hour, please contact us to find out more!
We are offering groups the opportunity for us to come to them and do craft
sessions £30 per hour all or most of the materials included.
This includes working with local artists Gordon Dickinson and Toni Robinson from
the group 'No Added Sugar' going into schools for the day doing 'Waste Education
Creative Art Workshops' using re-usable materials.
