Job Title: Shop Manager
Hours: Tuesday to Saturday 9:45am – 2:45pm
Salary: £10.00 per hour

Swindon Children’s Scrapstore is a local community resource centre and registered charity which provides a service for community organisations local businesses, by acting as a broker for clean re-usable waste.
The Scrapstore has over 35 years of experience of promoting waste minimisation, reuse and recycling.
Scrapstore is managed by a small staff group and with varied roles. In addition, Scrapstore offers volunteering opportunities to volunteers. The Shop Manager will be expected to work as part of this team with the aims of the project and all of its staff and volunteers.
Oversee the management of two shops in Swindon Town Centre, you will combine commercial acumen with creativity, leading a small team of staff and volunteers. Interact with customers to provide and process information in response to enquiries, concerns and requests about products and services. The goal is to provide high class customer service and to increase the charities growth and revenue through sales maximisation. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a new store
Duties & Responsibilities
a) Reporting on the profit of the retail store and whether it is reaching financial goals
b) Monitoring and evaluating performance KPI’s
c) Health & safety requirements are adhered to at all times
d) Supervision and training of all staff and volunteers
e) Daily process monitoring and administration
f) Maintain and administer statistical and financial records
g) Maintain customer service standards
h) Dealing with enquiries and complaints
i) Maintain social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
j) Maintain cleanliness of the premises to ensure customer experience is enjoyable
k) Monitoring staff behaviour, attitude, and presentation to make sure they are a positive reflection of the retail store's values
l) Delegating tasks to staff such as cleaning, stocking, customer support, or working the cash register
m) Monitor, develop and merchandising of stock
To ensure efficient administration systems are in place to provide monthly reports to CEO, monthly financial data including sales activity.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Retail management
Level 2 Supervisory/management qualification
Ability to work flexible hours
Experience of the Voluntary and / or business communities
Full clean driving licence
Candidates must demonstrate and ability to set objectives and prioritise and plan their work.
Specific Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must have an ability to communicate ideas and information effectively and appropriately on a 1:1 basis; they must also be able to develop appropriate, supportive and empowering relationships.
Ideally they must be able to show a creative approach in working with people.
